FAQ
FAQs
1. What fabrics do your hijabs come in?
We work with three core fabrics: Modal (soft, breathable, drapes beautifully), Crinkle (textured, crease-resistant, holds its shape all day) and Jersey (stretchy, comfortable, easy to style). Each one is picked for a different need — check each product page for the specific feel and best use.
2. What's the difference between your undercaps?
We currently offer a few undercap options. Ice Cotton is lightweight, firm and structured, great for everyday wear and warmer weather. Velvet Grip is designed to stay put — ideal if you find your hijab slipping throughout the day. Both are made to sit comfortably under any hijab style.
3. Do I need an undercap with every hijab?
Not always, but most of our customers find an undercap helps their hijab stay in place, adds a layer of coverage, and makes styling easier — especially with slippery or lightweight fabrics like modal. It's a personal preference, and we've made it easy to shop the pairing on each product page.
4. How do I know which hijab pairs with which undercap?
We show "pairs well with" suggestions directly on our product pages, so you can shop the full look in one go — hijab, matching undercap, sorted.
5. What size hijab should I order?
Our hijabs come in two sizes: Mini (160cm x 55cm) and Standard (180cm x 70cm). Mini suits a smaller frame or a more compact, streamlined wrap, while Standard gives you extra length and width for fuller coverage and more styling versatility. If you're unsure, Standard is our most popular choice — but message us if you'd like help picking based on your usual style.
6. How do I care for my hijab and undercap?
Gentle wash, cold water, and avoid the dryer where possible to protect the fabric's quality and shape. Full care instructions are included with your order and are also on each individual product page.
7. Are your products true to colour as shown online?
We do our best to photograph true to colour, but screens vary. If you're between two shades or unsure, message us before ordering — we're always happy to help you choose.
8. Where are you based, and do you ship internationally?
We're an Australian brand, based out of Melbourne, however we ship worldwide. Shipping costs and timeframes vary by destination and are calculated at checkout.
9. How long does shipping take?
All orders are dispatched between 2-4 business days. Australian orders typically arrive within 1-6 business days, and international orders within 6-28 days. You'll receive a tracking link as soon as your order ships.
10. What's your returns and exchange policy?
We want you to love what you ordered. If something's not right, reach out within 7 days of delivery and we'll sort out a return, provided items are unworn, unwashed and in complete original condition. Full details are on our Returns page.
11. Do you restock sold-out items?
For the most part, yes — popular styles are restocked regularly, however not all styles will be restocked. Hit "Notify Me" on any sold-out product page and you'll get an email the moment it's back.
12. Can I get a discount on my first order?
Join our VIP email list for first access to new drops, sales, and subscriber-only offers, including 10% off your first order.
13. Why did you start DAUS?
DAUS was built from over 20 years of personally wearing hijab — and knowing firsthand how hard it can be to find pieces that actually work for real life. Every product is designed to remove the daily friction of getting dressed, so it feels effortless, without ever compromising on how you want to show up in the world.
14. How can I stay in the loop on new drops and sales?
Follow us on Instagram and TikTok for behind-the-scenes content and first looks, and join our email list for early access, subscriber-only pricing, and sale countdowns before they go public.
15. Do I have to pay customs or import taxes? (outside AU & US)
Short answer: maybe, depending on where you are.
For orders outside Australia, your country may charge customs duties, taxes, or fees on arrival. These aren't included in your order total — they're set by your local customs, not by us.
If they apply, you'll pay them directly to the courier or customs office when your parcel arrives.
We can't predict the amount (it varies by country), so we'd recommend checking your local customs website if you want to know before you order.
